Large enough to carry a whole heap of stuff that needed to stay dry. Plus great for storing wet items as well that you don’t want dripping all over the place. I kinda wish that there were internal zippered pockets so that you could keep stored items, especially small items, somewhat organized rather than just dumping them all into the bag.

  2. dstumpf says:

Love the looks and portability. In my opinion I don’t think the cooler works as good as the tumblers and some of the other Yeti products so my expectations were high. Doesn’t hold as much as I thought it would. Not sure it was worth what we paid for it.

  3. Steve C. says:

Bag works well for hauling racing drones and equipment. Up to 3-4 fpv drones strapped to the outside, radio, batteries, tools, 2 pair of goggles, extra props and some spare parts all fit right in and I’m off to fly. Use to have to make two or three trips from the car to the flying spot. Now I just grab my bag and my chair and I’m ready. This is what I bought the pack for and it serves this purpose very well, would recommend to other fpv racers.

I have read some of the negative reviews, and I just don’t see it. It may not be MIL grade Nylon (1000d), but it is 600 denier fabric which I have found to be very tough. It is modeled after a military pack. I has 2 main pockets large enough to carry anything you would need for school or office, including legal pads. It also has two outside, quick access pockets. In fact, I would say be cautious about buying this for a tween or young teen. As a book bag, it could easily overloaded to a point that daily use could have a health impact. But it would be great for camping. It would carry everything a Boy Scout would need for a weekend camp out. If you have ever been or had a Scout, you know that is saying something.I bought this to use as a Range Bag. Among other things I carry a set of lead-shot shooting rests. Together they are almost 40 lbs. In addition, I carry ammo and pistols along with a spotting scope, gloves, hearing protection, and cleaning and maintenance tools and supplies.I am 6’2 and in reasonable shape. This bag holds everything I want to carry. My wife cannot even pick it up. It is working very well for me and it certainly didn’t fall apart when I picked it up. I use a one shoulder carry for short distances and the one strap holds all the weight. If you run out of space, there are numerous MOLLE loops and you can find an endless selection of MOLLE compatable pockets and pouches. Obviously, the old ALICE system can also be fitted.I could say that the buckles slip, but that is not a fault, just the nature of the buckles. As a former soldier, I know all the ways to prevent that slippage..Overall, I would say “Buy this Bag.”

  7. Kindle Customer says:

I expected this cooler based on all of the hype to actually have ice last for more than a day. Inside of an apartment at 70 degrees a full 15 -20 lb bag of ice did not last over 24 hours. When opened, just a bunch of cold water. Disappointed

  8. Arlington Virginia says:

This is a very well constructed cooler and is good looking. It does what it is supposed to. However, this Yeti is obnoxiously overpriced. I found a similar cooler that was 1/8th of the price an kept ice for almost as long. While it may not hold up as well, I could replace it every couple of years and still save money. Yeti also only has a three year warranty. For $400 I expected a lifetime warranty. Finally, while the 40 is a massive thing of beauty, Keep in mind that when you fill it up, it can be extremely heavy. I bought a little two wheel cart for it. Last gripe, the cooler that is 1/8th the cost comes with two bottle openers attached and a dry pocket to store things. Yeti has these as options and it will cost you about another $50-100. Yeti should be an all inclusive package for the prices they charge.

  9. Catskill Jill says:

This is HUGE! I bought it to keep our camera equipment and other stuff dry on a trip to Hawaii. My husband calls it a “body bag” since a small child has plenty of room for a nap. So, it is good to keep gear dry and also good for a laugh! (The joke is on him since we viewed Kilauea Volcano from a boat and the steam was incredible. It saved several thousand dollars worth of camera gear from moisture!)

  10. Amazon Customer says:

My son took this backpack from Dallas to the Philippines backpacking. He had no problems getting through the many airports with their regulations on size. He said he was glad to not worry about things staying dry during the rain and it is super durable. He loved being able to have the ability to extend it which made it super nice and convenient.

  11. AniAaron2321 says:

Bought this for my emergency survival bag. I can still fit my collapseable lantern and crank solar radio in the largest compartment which is already holding 2 pounds jerky, 24 protein bars, a full set of child’s clothing, a small and large ace bandage, 10 Ritz cheese and cracker packets, 2 small Ziploc bags of dry cereal & veggie chips. Love the hidden compartment for money/doc’s. The second largest compartment is empty that will be filled with my emergency water pouches but as you can see in the photos lots of room little small pouch which I put my chargers in.The two small compartments in the front of the bag as you can see it has been filled with an aid kit ( I stuffed more things in there than what it came with ) along with a lot of other stuff. It’s very comfortable to wear even with all that stuff in it and it’s not even heavy. Not yet, we’ll see when the 20 pounds of water is added into it but I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

  13. Gary C. says:

Received last week. We have a smaller one (30L), but needed more space. This thing is sturdy and fits everything. We paddle board and carry our cameras, tripod, lunch, drinks, etc. I’m a decent paddle boarder, but not perfect!! I’ve already inadvertently ‘gone swimming’ a couple of times with this backpack (loaded with expensive camera)– and it was all dry as a bone. Probably going to replace our smaller one with another for my wife. You can never pack too many bottles of wine for the trip! Highly recommend.

  14. Jason Garrett says:

Good quality, durable. Perfect for me and I also purchased the poncho liner to go with it.

  15. Nicely says:

I bought this poncho for my husband’s birthday. It is of very high quality and I think my husband will enjoy it. Ordinary ponchos do not fit him and have enough coverage to keep him dry and if he is in a survival situation it will have many uses and be very helpful. I am very glad a quality product like this is available.

  16. Laura Darling says:

I bought this for my son for backpacking with us. He is 12. This is advertised to fit kids but it is much too large for a child. It would however, fit even a very large man. It’s quite long and very wide. Would be great for adults at least 5’8” and up. It’s quite heavy as well. It would make a pup tent that doesn’t close in case of rain.

  17. Marcus Hunt says:

Fantastic, all purpose, rugged backpack. I just finished 3 weeks of working on a boat as a drone camera op and safety diver. Each day, we transferred to 1 of 3 smaller boats for the diving, research, etc.. This bag went everywhere with me. I kept a first aid kit, dry clothes, snacks, water, flash lights, a mini sump pump, an epirb and various other items in it. The larger size was perfect. Really appreciated the molle strap system on the outside for the included pouches, but even more so for the ability to lash things down. I kept zip ties, an emergency strobe light, a water bottle and a dive buoy hooked to the exterior. As you can see, on the smaller boat, it sat at the front for easy access and was constantly getting splashed – no interior water leaking at all. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a rugged, multi use, water proof backpack.

  18. Christopher G. says:

I have purchased hundreds of things from Amazon but this is the first time I am taking the time to write a review. First, the bag is outstanding. Very heavy duty material, heavier than any of my other dry bags. The shoulder straps are broad and comfortable with a well-placed and adjustable chest strap. There is a waist strap for unloading your shoulders. There is padding on the surface that is in contact with your back. The bag is covered with Molle webbing everywhere so that you can customize it for just about anything you want. It came with three large accessory pouches and two smaller accessory pouches. There was a minor defect in one of the large pouches that I received. When I let the seller know, within 3 days he sent me not one, but two replacements. I just spent a week hiking and kayaking in Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, and Lake Tahoe. I carried a whole family’s worth of gear all week and the bag performed exceptionally. I will be purchasing more of these bags to give as gifts to my adventurous friends and family.
