Obama-era FAA hiring guidelines spot diversity ahead of airline security, attorney tells Tucker Carlson
The safety of America’s airline passengers is being compromised for the sake of diversity in hiring air site visitors controllers, an lawyer suing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" host Tucker Carlson on Friday.
Throughout the Obama administration, the FAA replaced the previous hiring standards with rules created to enhance diversity amongst air site visitors controllers, lawyer Michael Pearson said.
&ldquoA group within the FAA, such as the human resources function within the FAA — the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees — determined that the workforce was also white,&rdquo Pearson told Carlson. &ldquoThey had a concerted effort by means of the Division of Transportation in the Obama administration to change that.&rdquo
"A group inside the FAA … determined that the workforce was too white. They had a concerted effort … in the Obama administration to alter that."
Pearson said there&rsquos no information to assistance that increasing diversity in the ranks of air visitors controllers would make the flying public safer. Therefore, Pearson said, he is suing the FAA for its revised hiring practices.
&ldquoIt&rsquos the safety of the national airspace that&rsquos at danger here,&rdquo Pearson stated.
Pearson, who stated he was an air traffic controller in four of the nation’s busiest facilities for practically 27 years, asserted that much of the problem lies with the National Air Visitors Controllers Association (NACTA), the union that controls a huge political action committee.
"They fund a lot of politicians,&rdquo Pearson told Carlson.
&ldquoNothing will get passed in aviation unless they get blessing of the controller&rsquos union,&rdquo he said, referring to legislation proposed in Congress. &ldquoTheir position radically changed when the Obama administration came in.
&ldquoThis is social engineering at its finest,&rdquo he added.
The FAA declined to send a representative to appear on the system, Carlson said.
