I didn’t buy from Amazon, bought from Walmart it was 5 bucks cheaper but it did take 3 trips to Walmart to get the brown color. They had the black and I liked it just not black. So I have the pack for over 6 months. It has endured 2 trips to Florida to the beech. One semester of college. With books and iPad and sometimes my laptop. I have a large fell and it will fit but it does throw the pack off balance/ feel off a little. Works fine for 2 college texts plus 2 notebooks and iPad. Drag it to work everyday. Since I got out of the military I am a nurse and it follows me everywhere I go. It’s my man purse I guess it’s cool I’m secure with my manhood. Don’t judge. U will drag this bag everywhere also. It’s not to big as that u can’t pack it everywhere and look stupid. It’s mall fits behind back well. I ride a GSRX in the summer time and it didn’t interfere with me riding. Even at higher speed 80-90mph. I jam keys 2-3 cans of dip and numerous pens and sharpies in the outside pockets. The inside mesh pockets I keep small toiletries in case I get stuck at work. Toothbrush can fit easily lengthwise. Main compartment has drain hold but have had to use that feature yet. I seriously beat the hell out of this thing and it works. I wanted a nice pack that would last and didn’t cost a fortune. I looked at Kelty, 511, and tons of others for about 6 months before I made my decision. It came down to one made by 12 survivors that seemed really nice but it almost tripled the price. This one has got my vote at the price it won’t break the bank and if u just need a day pack it works well or a cheap first aid/ bug out bag this one will work good for you.

I got this bag at a great price I couldn’t pass up from Amazon. It’s a very good pack for the price even with out the deal I got. Now it is made in China but the materials and quality are good. Time will tell on durability but it seems solid. A lot of compartments on the inside. I added orange paracord pull tabs on the inner zippers for better visibility. The Velcro is good on the bladder pass through tabs (left and right handed sides). The back panel of the inner front storage area is a water resistant material. There are water drainage holes at the bottom of the main compartment. The side water bottle storage can hold a 40oz bottle (similar to Hydroflask). Fits a 3L water bladder with a velcro tab to hold it up. Two mesh zippered pockets in the main compartment. Padded straps and back. Zippers seem pretty solid. I’ve put an ammo can AND two hand guns in their cases (Sig and HK) in this pack and it holds fine. So far, I would recommend it.I’ve had this for a while now and all I can say is Amazon still has this at an amazing deal. I shop for school backpacks every year for my kids and it amazes me that the regular school backpacks like Jansport go for $40+! This is ten times better and built stronger with more features for half the price. Do yourself a favor and just spend the $22 or whatever Amazon is selling it for and get this.

Update 1:My number one tip to improve this bag would be to rub a candle on all of the zippers. I found the zippers to be quite stiff and hard to open and close when I first bought the bag, but after rubbing a the hard wax from a candle over them they are running so much smoother.Update 2:Since buying this backpack I’ve discovered the “SOG accessory pouch” (small) and I can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking to expand the size of this backpack. When I purchased my first accessory pouch it was $6.49 with Prime shipping, the price has since gone up a little (and it’s often out of stock) but I still think it is wayyy underpriced. I now have 4 SOG accessory pouches for my pack and two Chrome Industries phone pouches that mount on the shoulder straps, The SOG pouches are fantastic, they easily attach to the molle webbing on the outside of your pack, they have elastic on the inside to keep things like flashlights, multitools etc in place and there are two large mesh pockets with drawstrings to keep loose items. The “small” is huge, a little larger than a Maxpedition Fatty. I just added some pics of my pack with all 4 pouches (plus two phone pouches) attached…probably a couple too many TBH, but I can easily remove them if need be.Original review:I’ve wanted to build myself a bug-out bag for a while now, something that would hold enough gear to last me at least 72 hours in an emergency situation.I think I made a great choice in buying this bag. I have a lot of other SOG products, and like the other items I own, this seems well made.I particularly like that this bag has so many pockets, so its easier to keep everything organized. There’s also a lot of molle webbing on the outside, so I’ll probably buy a couple of extra pouches to have the option of carrying additional gear (see update 2).My Platypus 3 liter hydration pack fits into a pocket in the main section (I think a 2 liter bag would probably fit better though) and there’s a hole to run the tubing and mouthpiece to the outside. There’s also a pocket on the outside for a water bottle.I’m sure I’m going to be tweaking my gear for a long time in an effort to get just the right combo, but so far I’m really pleased with this bag.

  4. JKitty says:

I was replacing a bag just like this that I had loved but had been really hard on and it was falling apart. I was going to get the same one, but the last bunch I bought as gifts was displeased with the quality, so I shopped around.I found this beauty and it’s the little things that make a difference.1. Double stitching and 2 ply molle straps2. Slightly larger organization pockets on the inside, also double stitched3. Real zippers, and they all work the first time4. Slightly more expandable5. Extra support straps for when you stuff the front pockets and load balance. For those of you that have purchased this size/type bag it is small. Daypack, GHB, for small to medium frames. It will hold all you need for emergencies or day out though, and maybe even more if your good at packing like me. I buy these for kids/teens/small frame (Busy Bag, GHB) as well as carry one myself, as I’m a female medium frame and all other bags get too bulky for a hike. My husband who is 6ft but a minimalist loves the bag also, but it does look a little small on him it will adjust to fit comfortably. It carries a rainsuit, Emergancy blanket, camp towel, change of clothes for small people, fresh socks and a shirt for larger people, stocking cap, work gloves, filter water bottle, compact first aid, snacks, knive(s), flashlight(s), small shovel, mini survival kit(s), binoculars, trail map(s), notebook, firestarter kit, small sewing kit, personal protection, Phone, walkie talkie, pen(s) and more…. those who state its small were most likely trying to make a BOB, adding more food, sleep gear, and larger personal protection. I like this size because I can drop it in my mountain bag that already has food, sleeping gear, cooking gear, extra clothes, no need for an internal organization system this bag becomes one.I’ll post an update after I take it out some, but if it’s half as good as the last bag. I’ll be pleased and I think this one will last longer based on the Little Things.

  5. Natalie Li says:

If you are a hiker and jogger and love outdoor activities. This bag is for you! It has tons of tiny bags you can fit all your stuff inside. Also, it’s waterproof so you don’t need to worry it will get wet during rain season.

  6. Chris Li says:

I have been looking for a backpack with a ton of pockets and this bag does not disappoint. I am still trying to figure out where everything should fit but this is like a backpacker’s dream come true. If you carry alot of electronic and still items during your travels, this bag will deliver.I haven’t traveled with it yet but I can’t wait for the next trip to use it.
