Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner on Friday mentioned he plans to present an amendment preventing President Trump from &ldquoarbitrarily revoking security clearances.&rdquo
Warner&rsquos announcement came after Trump earlier this week revoked the safety clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan and hinted Friday that he would soon do the exact same for Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr.
&ldquoI will be introducing an amendment subsequent week to block the President from punishing and intimidating his critics by arbitrarily revoking safety clearances,&rdquo Warner tweeted. &ldquoStay tuned.&rdquo

The amendment would be made to the defense appropriations bill, which is combined with a bill to fund the Departments of Labor and Well being and Human Solutions, and is at present on the Senate floor, Fox News has learned.
On Wednesday, White Residence Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, in a statement on behalf of Trump, made the announcement about Brennan, saying that he &ldquohas a history that calls his credibility into query.&rdquo
The statement also claimed that Brennan had been &ldquoleveraging&rdquo his clearance to make &ldquowild outbursts&rdquo and claims against the Trump administration in the media.
&ldquoThe president has a constitutional duty to shield classified information and who has access to it, and that&rsquos what he&rsquos carrying out is fulfilling that duty in this action,&rdquo Sanders mentioned.
