If you were to disable the touch screen and turn down the resolution to 1080p (on the UHD version) can we expect a longer battery life closer to the FHD non-touch version (17 hour)?

  25. MrSoloDev says:

I returned the DELL XPS 15 9550. Despite my best efforts, I could not get used to the cheap keyboard. It’s really an awful awful awful keyboard. It makes the overall experience much less enjoyable. I’ve been spoiled by Macbook Pro and Thinkpad laptop keyboards in the past and so anything less is impossible to tolerate. I’m a software developer and I type A LOT. As such, I bought the Thinkpad X1 Yoga instead and I’ve been using it for the past 2 months, 60 hours/week. I’m really happy with the Thinkpad X1 Yoga despite the display being slightly less good than the DELL XPS 15 9550. I decided to keep the Thinkpad for good

  29. Daniel Rodriguez-Delgado says:

great video. one minor comment, at around 6:02 you say GPU temp was 83 celcius, the screenshot you show was actually 93, which is not that low. on that token, any chance you saved the screen shot of maximum and minimum CPU speed? my theory is that the XPS 15 throttles more than others due to aggresive power and temp settings. the price to pay with a small chasis is less pace for ventilation, hence higher temps, hence more need to cap CPU. in a way you might have seen low temps, because BIOS is constraining the CPU, that is the reason of my question.

  30. SteepVisions says:

Doesn’t come with a ethernet port, therefore it’s shit 😀

  31. Fnord Fnordington says:

so these things dont come with an accessible harddrive? what if you wnated to upgrade to a HD with more space??

  32. AVSTR says:

i had a xps 15 and it had an awful view angle! so i retourned it after 2 weeks… now im waiting for the next one

  33. Ruby Buck says:

Bought this computer thinking I was getting the greatest computer out
there…WRONG! I am just letting anyone who has the XPS 15 to know that
there is a defect with the monitor! Most of you wont notice it if you
just watching movies or videos. But after a while I started to notice
the the screen would dim about 10 15 percent and have a pink hue to it.
At first I thought it was the battery saver kicking in…so I left my
computer plugin and boom there it went again. My monitor setting were at
100% turned off my battery saver and there it went ever hour or so it
would dim and turn hue of pink! Contacted dell they replace my monitor
twice and my motherboard and still having the problem…I’m sure a lot
of you XPS users have this same issue if you took the time to check!
Other problems battery last max 3 hour internet connection dies and have
to restart the computer to get it back! DELL just wants me to keep
sending it back! Had enough! Please check you XPS to see if you have
this issue…its subtle so you nee to have a good eye.

  34. A. Hutsona says:

This laptop is a beast running GNU/Linux. I’ personally running Fedora, but I’m sure other distros will work as well. I have the late 2016 model. They will probably come out with a 2017 Kabby Lake refresh but that will only provide small improvements.

If you plan on running Linux I’d suggest getting the intel wireless card as it has better driver support within the Linus kernel.

  35. Mohammed Shafei says:

    I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. raz1 says:

Did you think that Dell designed the stiff opening for a reason?  Its a touchscreen laptop, so you will be pressing the screen face a lot…they have made this super stiff as to prevent movement, which many people complain about on the yoga etc.  Please think logical when making a review.

  39. esbe says:

I ordered this laptop because I read so many amazing reviews and a college friend recommended it. I ordered a Dell XPS 15, i7 core, 256 SSD and 8GB memory. It came as agreed and I was very excited. My first day using it, I was confronted with a blue screen of death IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I was very shocked and immediately contacted support who provided a very good program to try and fix it – although you can never know if a blue screen of death is really fixed. 2 weeks later I started experiencing issues with the touchpad – it would just stop working intermittently (VERY FRUSTRATING) – eventually I found a thread describing my issue – looks like a bad feature that means you cannot use the laptop on an uneven surface. Today I received ANOTHER (!!!) blue screen of death saying DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. I emailed support again as I decided that due to the software and hardware failures I would like to return the product for a refund, but by the time I made the request (due to all the back and forth) I was told it was ‘is outside return and refund period’. They didn’t even respond regarding the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION issue. Understandably, I am very upset as it took me a while to convince my husband to let me get an expensive laptop for work. Dell should not be selling such badly made laptops for so expensive and then refusing to take them back!!

  40. xoguar says:

2:20 The screen is not matte? In the trash!

I’m a mac user BTW, but my good I wish I can afford this laptop now! I’m gonna get it, but not really soon 🙁

  47. Kristóf Répás says:

At least someone give us temperatures.
What is your opinion? If 45 min bf4 made the temp near 80-85 celsius, is this laptop (or the new one 9560) worth for World of Warcraft for hours of playing? Sorry for weak english 😛

  48. Nguyễn Ryan says:

How long can the battery last?

  49. Fantasifoster says:

By far the best review I’ve seen of this, thanks! Some say the mousepad double-finger scroll is terrible browsing in Google Chrome, have you tried that?
